Following on from previous contracts for Stormwater renewals and upgrades for Auckland Council in 2012 and 2013 Thomas were awarded the contract for a package of suburban stormwater renewals in West Auckland to obtain the best practical solution to flooding issues in the area. The work per site consisted of the full scope of services: investigation, design, consultation with stake holders; preparation of documents for consenting and for tendering; project management including Health and Safety monitoring & reporting.
As a example of this work in 2014 Thomas were engaged by Auckland Council to upgrade the stormwater system in Pankhurst Place, Sunnyvale to alleviate flooding issues. This project involved horizontal drilling PE Pipe and open excavation RCRRJ pipe to install the new storm water system, along with the installation of double splay catchpits.
