We have an exciting update for Observation Green, a project in Hobsonville Point that our Landscape Architecture team has been working on.
Works on the park and playground began in February 2023 at 1 Observation Green, Hobsonville, Auckland.
The project involves the development of a new neighbourhood park at Observation Green to meet the needs of the growing community in this subdivision area.
The Scope includes:
- General landscaping and planting
- Concrete paths network, including learn to ride elements
- Shaded seating / Picnic area
- Playground
- Fitness trail for all ages along paths
The landscape architecture team at Thomas Consultants provided a practical and considered design response for the park. It needed to be a space that encourages social interactions for locals of all ages. This subdivision is new so people are still getting to know each other on a personal level. The design of this park will aide that, both from community input and our expertise.
Ecological and environmental elements played a large part with the use of native planting, fostering a harmonious coexistence between the local ecosystem and human development. Hundreds of local residents attended the official opening day. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the park facilities.
