Project Overview:
Acting as client side project manager for procurement and construction, this major renewal project involved full replacement of the main pool’s variable level floor, and an HVAC system replacement to two independent pool areas and the main gym at Auckland Council’s West Wave Pool and Leisure Centre.
The existing variable floor to the main pool was deconstructed entirely and rebuilt, necessitating a full draining and closure of the main pool around major annual events. The HVAC component of the project saw installation of new air handling units, full ducting replacement, maintenance work and BMS system integration into some of the centre’s busiest operational environments.
The project was carefully planned and delivered to ensure that facility users were able to safely continue to enjoy the pool and gym as best as practicably possible during project delivery.
The combined works had an approximate value of $1m.
